Trinidad Tourism

The Trinidad tourism campaign began in 2002 after the passage of a 3 percent lodging tax the previous fall. The newly formed City of Trinidad Tourism Board, appointed by City Council, issued an RFP for a one-year plan with a budget of $100,000. HessArts responded with a detailed first-year plan that included the foundation for a long-term effort.

In the first year, HessArts came in 5 percent under budget while 1) conducting community outreach, 2) producing a photo, map, and information library for use in promotional materials, 3) producing a strong set of initial promotional brochures, billboards, guide signs, and postcards, and 4) establishing a contact and information network for future projects and distribution. HessArts has continued since 2002 to provide and execute yearly marketing plans.
