What You Get

The ultimate make-your-own-map kit. Available in Atlantic and Pacific view, this Graphic Designer's map is offered in vector .pdf format. To limit file size you receive one of the gray-scale images shown above.

This original map projection concept was accomplished in Adobe Illustrator using an Apple computer. It is constructed on a landscape tabloid document and consists of 6 editable layers:

1) Background
A double-square rectangle.
It's the Ocean fill.

2) Border
A filled compound path that sits outside the map image.

3) LongLat
These 15 degree numbers sit upon the border and enable accurate positioning. When used with the FineGrid, they allow 1 degree positioning accuracy.

4) FineGrid
1 degree grid lines, horizontal and vertical. The dimension of one square degree in the document is 3 pts. (1/24th of an inch). All layers are set to snap to that grid.

5) FatGrid
15 degree grid lines, horizontal and vertical.
Calibrated with LongLat numbers.

6) Continents
The only layer that is grouped. (Europe now separate from Asia).

Many hours went into hand-drawing and digitizing this image. The outline of Africa or South America alone is worth the asking price of $33.

New layers will be offered in the near future (Countries, Capitol Cities, and Major River Systems).
